This novel is very dark and very brutal. The MC wakes up in a relatively cruel world with a cheat where he can collect experience from other people. He starts off at a pharmacy where he gets a job because he knows how to read/write. The pharmacy teaches basic cultivation skills and pharmacy techniques where he learns quickly by picking up experience balls. Things seem relatively normal at this point, but things start to take a turn for the worse.
After getting a little strong he is transporting goods for the pharmacy and stops bandits from taking one of the female workers. Because of that he gets kicked out of the pharmacy and he realizes how cruel this world is. He gets strong enough to defeat those guys but he then finds out the people behind the bandits are even worse. This is when things start to get way darker and very gory. First he kills all the bandits without even blinking, like he is a complete sociopath who kills any enemy big or small.
The story starts to get really gory and gross, the people behind these bandits are a group of cannibals who get stronger by eating people. These people become a key enemy in the whole novel and it’s honestly disgusting where I had to stop reading because it was too gory and gross for me. The MC continues to get stronger and he realizes he can get more experience by killing people as well. This turns him into even more of a killer and life in the novel seems to be worth nothing. I am going to give this novel 3 stars because the novel is well written and his progress is fast but still realistic where he has to work hard for it. I just can’t handle the amount of gore and cannibal bad guys.
