I randomly found this novel and had low expectations and was pleasantly surprised. The novel is based around a world of runes/cards. The main character has a summoner class and has a collection of different summons. So he is basically a monster tamer with other abilities on top of that. His cheat ability is basically a training plan with some bells and whistles, honestly it doesn’t even feel like a cheat ability sometimes because he still has to put in all the work. Which sometimes he does to an extreme degree, but I personally like a cheat ability where they still have to earn it instead of them getting a bunch of freebies.
So far the pacing has been solid, I am at chapter 239 and he is still constantly being challenged. He is stronger than other people at his level, however he is always challenging people at a higher level, which keeps it exciting. The rune system is also really good, the author sticks to the rules he puts in place and allows the user to slowly understand more about the system over time. Because his cheat gives the ability to make it so he can train faster he slowly learns more skills but its never to a point where it feels stupid. He has a clear fighting close range and long range style and two – three auxirely skills that allow him to obtain the resources he needs.
The novel has an interesting combination of slice of life style and fighting/training focus. He has a rather awkward but funny relationship with a possible romantic interest, but it’s at a level that is just cute and you can almost feel how awkward the author felt making it so awkward. He also has unique and kinda corky relationships with his various summons. However it really works and you can really feel the personalities of all the key characters.
I really have enjoyed reading this novel and will continue to read as more chapters are released. I am going to give it 5 stars, I just really enjoyed reading this novel and it falls into my preferences. The novel is a little corky and has its own charm but I think that’s what makes it good. It has its own unique flavor and I think that is what makes me want to read more.
