The Immortal in the magic world novel was really interesting. It was a different approach to the typical cultivate/grow stronger novel because there is no time deadline. In fact the MC doesn’t do everything he can to avoid trouble because he knows that he will outlive his enemies. So if he is not strong enough now he can leave and then just come back later. He also starts to have a little bit of warped personality because he will outlive all of the people he knows. This especially happens early on in the novel when the people he knows are all mortal and haven’t grown strong enough to live longer.
The novel makes me feel a little sad for the MC for a lot of the novel. He outives all the people around him, and he kinda goes numb to it. He ends up treating people somewhat close to him more like tools because it’s too hard for him emotionally to see people he cares about die of old age. I think it makes sense for character to become like that over time and it’s kinda the price for immortality.
I think the magical and warlock world that he learns is very interesting and well written and thought out. He has to learn everything the hard way and his only advantage is that he has unlimited amounts of time. However his cheat only gives unlimited vitality, however it doesn’t auto heal or make him harder to kill so he cares more about being safe and will often say know to opportunities to try and explore. This makes sense because he really doesn’t need to, however he still protects the people he cares about and still will try his best to protect them, even though he knows he will outlive them. I am going to give this 4 stars, I really enjoy the novel. The writer does a good job building out the main character and how he would handle an immortal life.
