I am not sure what to think of this novel, I like this novel in general and give it around 4 stars. The novel has a good mixture of comedy and plot line, which makes for an enjoyable read. However you can’t take the novel to seriously or you will get frustrated.
In this cultivation novel the main character often times doesn’t think through the consequence of his actions. Its better to just enjoy the storyline and plot that has a mixture of a lot of comedy. Rather then thinking about all the potential plot holes. Like their is a storyline where wins an alchemy competition and wins lots of money, he is then shocked when someone tries to kill him for it. Then there is a whole storyline of the consequences of killing the person that tried to kill him, which ends up the person that wants revenge just gives up and is like it doesn’t matter. Like after all the build up of 20 chapters that you are worried about this guy taking revenge he just gets out of it.
The comedy is pretty good but sometimes they are trying to hard, however its still enjoyable to read as long as you ok with a lot of jokes about aphrodisiac. When he first comes to the world he needs to find a way to make money and focuses on making aphrodisiac because apparently he has history of making it when he lived on earth. So for the first like 30 chapters its all about him making pills to help with things between man and women.
The story does get better and I am currently on the latest chapter at 154 and have enjoyed the read until now and hoping for more chapters. However I am little concerned the book will stop here, the writer asked to take a break because he was going to the hospital for surgery. Hopefully he will feel better and decide to continue to write the book.
