I really enjoyed this novel, it stayed to its theme and continue to grow the main character and surrounding characters throughout the book. I best can some up the novel as an CSI or Law and Order crime solving story, where he haves to use the clues to solve the case but each crime only lasts one episode like 3-4 chapters.
The main character has a system, but its not to overpowering. It gives him the ability to be a good police officer by having him be better at investigating cases or gives hime experience in solving more cases so he is a more seasoned professional. The main tool that he uses the most often in the system is getting a special energy drink that basically makes it so he can work 24/7 without getting tired.
The main character is a workaholic that is very self focused on improving himself. He has a few strong friendships but a lot of the relationships are people wanting to get closer to him and he occasionally will participate. The main character is honestly not the best kind of friend and takes a lot of his relationships for granted. They also do the cliche thing where the MC is super handsome and all the women in the book the whole time all falling heads over heals for him and he is doing cliche thing where he acts like he doesn’t understand all these women’s feelings and just pretends like its normal and not a problem.
Overall I would say its a fun read but don’t think to hard. I will give it 3 stars because I did enjoy the read and it was fun but it definitely stays at a surface layer. Where you get a new case, the main character finds some clues and solves the case and you rinse and repeat.
