Goddess Helps Me Simulate Cultivation

Goddess Helps Me Simulate Cultivation

At first I didn’t like the novel, the main character seemed lazy and was just taking advantage of the female lead characters. For me it was weird that he wasn’t also trying to go into the simulator whenever it was possible. However as I got further into the story I enjoyed the storyline of the 3 heroine characters and their life in the simulator and the real world. He also does eventually use the simulator as well once he is stronger and I thought it became an interesting combination where the heroine characters have more screen time then the main character.

I don’t like the main character’s personality. At first he seems super lazy and is just trying to find people he can take advantage of and gain benefits without any hard work. His character starts to change once he becomes stronger and he feels like he has the ability to protect himself but it feels a little underserved. I want the heroine characters who are doing all the hard work to get more of the rewards from the simulation. He does start to care about the heroine characters but it feels more out of concern on losing his meal ticket. He does start to do his own simulations and help but the character just feels one dimensional and selfish.

I like the three female leads a lot more than the main character and so far it’s not a harem which is a big plus.  The first female lead character Chen Qianxuue is your classic very focused on becoming stronger and nothing else and is the best in her age. As she spends more time in the simulation you see her character grow and change in a way that makes sense and feels right to the story. The second female lead is named Qin Jiao, she has a younger sister that likes to get into trouble. In the story you get to see her mature and grow to become wiser and more patient. Lastly is Fu Shuangni, she is the princess of the local kingdom and is mature in a leader/management way. She often moves the story alone in the real world where there is internal strife in the royal family. All three of these characters bring the most energy and drive the story forward.

Overall the story is about people simulating a life in a very dangerous cultivation world. The main character can use the talent himself and also give it to other people even without the permission. The secondary character will get a lesser version of benefits gained from how well they do in the simulator. The main character gets the better version of benefits. I honestly am not the biggest fan of this and would rather the rewards be more skewed towards the person doing the work since the main character is doing nothing and getting the majority of the benefits. I also like the secondary characters better than the main character which is also probably why I feel this way. With all these factors in mind I am going  to give the story 3 stars, because to me it’s one of those middle of the road stories.
