I am a sucker for a good monster tamer novel and this novel checks all the boxes. The main character gets some good cheat abilities that make it better to evolve. He has a solid family connection with two sisters and one brother, his parents died when young and they all have a close relationship which I think his family relationships are really sweet and seeing the character growth adds some slice of life.
The main character named Fang Mu has two main abilities. He is a transmigrator so he has two souls and then can get two natal abilities. The first ability is your typical inspect ability which allows him to check out monster and weapon information. The second ability is a blood well, where he donates blood and then he can use that blood to increase the monster bloodline. He technically doesn’t have a third ability but I basically would call it one. His first beast that he creates, he accidentally makes (literally he dropped the phone and the blood spilled, the beast that got the blood was the vacuum cleaner and became amazing). The monster has the ability to eat anything, like worthless corpses and trash and refine it into purified energy crystals which is the main ingredient to help beasts evolve with a certain element. All these abilities combine to make him an awesome monster breeder, he does the typical smart thing where he pretends to have a master so that can make use of his skills without people controlling him.
I really enjoyed this monster tamer book. All of the monsters have fun characteristics that make them unique and you can picture them. The characters are relatively smart and nothing in the timeline feels too forced. It’s a little questionable to me that so far in the book no one has figured out he doesn’t have a master. Even people that are way more powerful than him. Like the MC best skill should be acting with how well he pulls everything off with pretending to be way stronger and more background then he has. I am at chapter 206 and waiting for more chapters, its real cliff hanger and looking forward to the next chapter. For that fact alone I am going to give it 4 stars.
