I wasn’t sure if I even wanted to read enough of this novel to write a review. I personally like high talent novels, I enjoy the main character growing from weak to strong and working hard to make improvements to himself. Honestly these novels a lot of times you turn your brain off and just enjoy the action and fighting. This novel does a good job with the action and growth and really enjoys world building as well. However, nationalism and racism is really really bad. This is a Chinese novel that has been translated, so it’s expected that there will be some nationalism since that’s basically required for the novel to be published. The amount of nationalism and especially racism is super excessive and immediately makes me stop reading the novel.
There are a few good things about the novel. The system is super powered but also logically makes sense and his skills make him strong in a logical progressive way that makes sense for the story. The action and fighting scenes are enjoyable and are able to easily follow even with a machine translation. The world environment is well written and gives valid reasons for the constant fighting and killing. Those are the only good things I can find in this novel.
The negatives are more than I can count. The nationalism is way too much to a crazy extreme, they only take in people to their village who are from china and other local people not from earth. Anyone who is not from china or a local people become slaves that are forced to mine and chop wood. And all people from China are 100% loyal and they never cause any issues for the MC and basically treat the MC as a god. The amount of racism is crazy, the people that are not from china act all superior and insult the chinese and then get face slapped and killed and insulted by the main character and other people from china. This is the first novel where I have read so many racist comments towards different nationalities. Don’t expect any character development, the MC basically is a mass murder who enjoys genocide and everybody is ok with that. All of the female characters fall in love with the MC and throw themselves at him but he is so focused on his mission that he won’t get into any relationships and basically makes a harem out of default.
I am giving this novel 1 star, basically one of the worst novels I have ever read. Basically turn off your brain if you are going to read this and enjoy the action and ignore all of the nationalism and racism.
