Damn it! You Call This Beast Taming?

I agree with the title of this novel. I don’t know if you can call this a beast tamer. The author is not afraid of making the MC overpowered as quick as possible. I am at chapter 163 and he is already fighting the strongest people outside of the God level characters in the novel. He has been training for less than 3 months and he has gone from awakening his talent to the strongest below the God level. At the same time the author keeps saying he needs to slow down in order to stabilize the foundation, like if that wasn’t a concern he would go even faster. The whole novel seems to go smoothly and basically the whole time everyone is happy for him growing so strong so fast and the whole race is united, which feels pretty unrealistic and makes for a relatively boring world.

The MC is your standard character bio from most Chinese novels. He is an orphan that has the same casual friends that he quickly outgrows because he is only focused on getting stronger and doesn’t even try and help his friends to grow strong quickly. He has no real romantic relationships because he only wants to focus on strength. He has no problem exterminating whole races or enslaving them because they are against the human race. He literally just exterminated a whole world and killed billions of innocent aliens and he doesn’t even care and acts like that is completely normal. The MC for the most part makes good use of his SSS ability, he tends to overexpose himself without any backlash because the human race is united so it doesn’t matter when he doesn’t think through his actions. This makes him feel super arogarent and he acts like he can’t make any mistakes, even when he constantly puts himself in unnecessary danger without any benefit over and over. But he is so overpowered he constantly gets away with it and has no consequences for acting so stupidly.

The tamed monsters he has are a lot of fun and it’s hard for me to not like them. The personalities are a little shallow and I wish there was more depth to them, since they are basically the MC’s only real companions. He starts with a monster called a wild bear, which has a fun bear personality that is super strong and straight forward in fights and at the same time cute and adorable. The next beasts after that are fine but none of them have much in depth character. This really bothered me, because the thing I like the most in monster tamer novels is the personalities of the beasts. I am going to give it 3 stars, if you like beast tamer novels then it’s good enough to read and still enjoy it. If you are not a big beast tamer novel fan then I would probably pass and find something else to read, many other elements are lacking.
